SERDANG - 27 APRIL 2017,
TNBES has made history with the signing of a 5-year agreement to supply Energy Efficiency services for building lighting under the Energy Performance Contract (EPC) program with Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), with a total contract value of RM 1.76 million.
A contract submission ceremony was held today between Associate Professor Ar. Meor Mohammad Fared bin Meor Razali, Director of Development & Asset Management UPM and Dr. Ir. Ahmad Jaafar Abd. Hamid, Managing Director of TNBES and attended by key officials from both parties.
As one of Malaysia's leading research universities, the trust that has been provided to TNBES in this EPC project has proven UPM's confidence in the expertise and capabilities of TNBES to implement the EPC project. To begin with, this contract will cover the supply of building lighting using energy-efficient equipment at two major faculties namely Faculty of Engineering and Faculty of Biosciences.
Energy Efficiency is one of the main services in Business TNBES. In the implementation of energy efficiency initiatives, Under the EPC Program, TNBES offers the implementation of the Energy Efficiency Initiative to Customer without the need to issue a Capital Budget (Capex). Capital investment will be fully funded by TNBES with guaranteed energy savings. Consequently, energy savings calculated per Kwh value will also be shared with customers according to the agreed percentage sharing.
Hopefully with the signing of this EPC contract, it will have a positive impact on TNBES and TNB in particular in support of the Government's efforts to preserve the energy industry in this country.
